Mission Trips

Since 2005, members and friends of Trinity have been taking Mission Trips to New Orleans to help with the rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina devastated the Gulf Coast of our nation.  Over 37 people have participated in our seven trips thus far.  We’ve worked on homes and churches, and made some wonderful ministry connections with God’s hurting people in New Orleans.

Many of us feel the Lord tugging on our hearts once again.  A new Mission Trip is coming up soon, with a very special emphasis.

The church pictured is Trinity Lutheran Church, on Claiborne Avenue in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans.  Trinity is the last Lutheran church in that city to be rebuilt after the floods of 2005.  The congregation is disbanded, as the neighborhood is still largely bare ground, and very few people have been able to move back in.  Finally, though, an effort is underway to rebuild this church, and to provide Christian hope for the hurting people of that community.

We have formed a volunteer team of adults to take a Mission Trip February 12-18, 2012 to work on the Trinity Claiborne rebuilding project in New Orleans.

How can you help?  Here are four suggestions.

  • Please pray for our Mission Trip volunteers, asking God to keep them safe and to provide golden ministry opportunities.

  • Make a tax-deductible donation to support this Mission Trip, and to help rebuild this church.  Send your contribution to the following address:
