Acolytes

Have you ever noticed the young men and women who assist the pastors on the altar during worship services?  They are called “acolytes.”

Acolytes began serving God and their fellow believers in the early days of the Christian Church.  Today’s acolytes perform many of the same duties as those of long ago, such as lighting the altar candles, assisting with the offering, assisting as Holy Communion is being served, as well as many other functions they are called on to perform.

Trinity’s acolyte program is open to all students grades 6-12 who have completed their First Holy Communion training. Five training sessions and pastoral approval are mandatory. If you are interested in serving as an acolyte please contact the church office, (516) 931 2225, for more information.
