Community Garden

The Trinity Lutheran Church Community Giving Garden is located at 46 West Cherry Street and was founded in May of 2011 for the purpose of helping to provide food to those individuals and families in the surrounding communities who are struggling to meet one of their most basic needs. The garden itself currently consists of thirty-three raised beds to produce a variety of vegetables. Volunteer participation is not limited to members of the congregation. We are open to all who live in Hicksville and the surrounding communities. All who are interested are welcome and encouraged to participate in the planting, growing, weeding, harvesting, and distribution of the produce. If you are a member of Trinity Lutheran Church or the surrounding communities and are interested in volunteering please contact the Church Office at 516-931-2225.

We have set work days on Monday evenings – starting mid-May – at 6:30 pm, as well as special project Saturdays. Those dates will be announced using our email list.

No experience is necessary, we provide all the tools, and all ages are welcome – children must be accompanied by an adult.
