“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.  For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:4-5)

Psalm 27 is one of many “Songs” of David, “The Lord Is My Light and My Salvation”, such inspirational words for us to pray about today during this preparatory season of Advent.

Our Faith in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit leads us to also “dwell in the house of the Lord” all the days of our lives knowing that he has sent us the greatest most beautiful gift of all, our Savior Jesus Christ.  Jesus was born to live as both a sinless man while also God and He fulfilled the promise to undeservedly go to the cross and die for the forgiveness of all our many sins.

We need to faithfully and regularly ask the Lord for that forgiveness in prayer both in Church for Worship and also during our everyday lives.   We must ‘live’ our Faith and Serve Him always just as he Blesses, Serves & Protects us all the time.  Isn’t it awesome to have a Loving God who will hide and shelter us and cover us in his tent, in times of trouble including the on-going pandemic and all other of life’s many struggles?

Let’s remember as we await the celebration of Jesus birth to always Lift Him up in Praise & Thanksgiving, just as he lifts us up upon a rock giving us strength & wisdom to be His faithful Disciples.  We will whenever possible spread the Good News of Jesus Birth, Life, Death and Resurrection.  And when our earthly life comes to an end, we by our faith are assured of eternal rest in the House of the Lord Forever; this promise is the greatest Christmas Gift’ anyone could ever ask for!

A final thought about my time meditating on these verses, I was drawn to a favorite Hymn, and praying we can begin singing at Trinity again soon:

“The Church’s One Foundation” Is Jesus Christ, her Lord!
