“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need”. (Hebrews 4:15-16)
Have you ever had a serious problem or challenge in your life that you have felt no one could help you with? You think of your friends and family or, maybe, your pastor. But, you just feel that no one will truly understand. However, in reading our Bible passage for today we have good news! Our High Priest is Jesus Christ. In Him, we are not alone. He is someone we can talk to and understands exactly what we are going through and what we need. He understands all of our weaknesses. What a treasure, blessing and reassurance it is to know that we always have someone who will understand what we are going through . . . why? because He’s been there! He came to earth to live and die as a man for our completely undeserved salvation.
“What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear,
What a privilege to carry, everything to God in prayer”.
Dear precious Jesus, thank you that we can bring all our cares to You knowing that You understand all the troubles we face in this world of sin. Thank you for being our Saviour! Amen.
