For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,  and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.”  In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.”  For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26)

Many of us have not heard these words in person for a year. Many of us had not had communion. As sad as this is know that you will again soon. Listen to these words and think of Jesus. Jesus is our reason for being here, we focus on him this Maundy Thursday. He tells us to remember him, that is not just for today but each day of our lives. He will be back again one day and we will all be in heaven with him. Paul is reminding the people of Corinth that the Lord’s Supper is a time to remember what Jesus has done for us and to tell everyone about him till he comes again.

Until then we remember that he gave his body and blood to save us from our sins and to show how much he loves us.

We pray, Dear Jesus, we give thanks each and every day for the love that you give to us. Help us to share your love and message of forgiveness to others, each and every day of our lives. Amen
