“Long ago, at different times and in various ways, Gods voice came to our ancestors through the Hebrew prophets. But in these last days, it has come to us through His Son, the One who has been given dominion over all things and through whom all worlds were made.

This is the One who—imprinted with Gods image, shimmering with His glory—sustains all that exists through the power of His word. He was seated at the right hand of God once He Himself had made the offering that purified us from all our sins.” (Hebrews 1:1-3)

GOD spoke to us through prophets such as Ezekiel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel to name a few, as well as Joseph and Jacob, in the form of visions and dreams. He spoke also orally to Samuel and Moses. To Elijah in a “Still small voice.”

GOD speaks to us today through His Son Jesus. Through His Holy Word. Through all creation and nature.

Look at the world around you; not the man-made objects, but animals, trees, flowers, the colors of the sky, a rainbow. Much too complex to be a random act. If it was, it would be simple, taking the path of least resistance. Even if at times it appears chaotic, there still is order there. Job says “He hangs the Earth on nothing”.

Jesus is the mediator between us and God. He takes our penalty for us and our slate of sins is made clean. We are whiter than snow.

With all the hustle and bustle of the season, it is easy to lose focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Our technology and (un)social media involvement can derail us too.

Maybe use it to keep in touch with those we can’t see this season: shut-ins and those alone. Tell them they are not alone. If they need gifts purchased, wrapped, delivered that they can still be a part of the gift-giving season.

Jesus is the greatest gift of all seasons.  Can we share that with some hurting person and show them too?
